These are some of the most common — and most commonly dismissed — experiences after having a baby. They are real, recognised, and highly treatable.
"I thought this was just something I had to accept after having a baby."
Postpartum bladder leaks, pelvic pressure, and core weakness are incredibly common — but common does not mean you have to live with them.
Many new mothers spend months or years managing these symptoms in silence. These are real, recognised, and highly treatable conditions. At Aniyah Care, we have designed a programme specifically for mothers who want to feel like themselves again — gently, privately, and at their own pace.
Understanding what you’re experiencing is the first step. Here is what we commonly see — and how we can help.
Targeted pelvic floor strengthening via Freedom+ or physiotherapy
Personalised assessment and support plan
Gentle manual therapy and pelvic floor rehabilitation
Neuromuscular re-education for bladder control
Physiotherapy-led core rehab with safe return-to-exercise guidance
Integrated physiotherapy addressing pelvic-lumbar connection
During pregnancy, the pelvic floor bears months of growing load. Hormonal changes loosen connective tissue, reducing structural support. During delivery — vaginal or caesarean — the pelvic structures are profoundly affected.
Research shows that without targeted rehabilitation, deep pelvic muscles may not return to normal activation spontaneously. The good news: the pelvic floor responds exceptionally well to the right treatment.
Pelvic floor bears growing load. Relaxin loosens connective tissue. Deep stabilisers begin to disengage.
Muscles are stretched and often dormant. Surface recovery begins — but deep pelvic function may remain compromised.
Symptoms persist or worsen. Many women normalise these changes, unaware that effective treatment exists.
Deep pelvic muscles reactivate. Strength, control, and confidence are progressively restored — often within weeks

This depends on your individual recovery and type of delivery. We can assess and discuss a plan from a few weeks postpartum — even before active treatment begins. Your care team will confirm timing at your free consultation.
Absolutely. Caesarean birth still significantly affects the pelvic floor and abdominal structures. Many C-section mothers experience core weakness, bladder issues, and scar tissue complications that respond very well to targeted treatment.
Breastfeeding mothers can generally receive Freedom+ treatment. Our team will review your full health history at consultation to confirm eligibility and any adjustments to the plan.
A typical course is 4–6 sessions spaced a few days apart, followed by a maintenance session at six months. Your care team will recommend a personalised plan after your initial assessment.
In most cases, no referral is required. You can contact us directly to book. If you've been referred by a care provider, we're happy to coordinate with them.
Some extended health plans cover pelvic physiotherapy. Freedom+ sessions are not covered by OHIP. We recommend checking your benefit plan and can provide receipts for submission. Our team is happy to discuss payment options.
